Introduction to Microsoft Excel

ICT Applied Skills 2.2
Microsoft Excel 2008 is the latest version of Excel for Macintosh. This hands-on workshop introduces the basics of spreadsheets with Microsoft Excel 2008. Through step-by-step creation of a simple spreadsheet, participants will gain a working knowledge of the capabilities of Excel 2008 and practice using a variety of Excel features. These features include, but are not limited to: importing and exporting data, entering, editing, and formatting data, creating formulas, using simple functions, and printing.

 Teachers will learn:

• how to create a basic spreadsheet including data, labels and functions
• how to create charts and graphs
• how to use spreadsheets to teach students data management and analysis
• how to share Excel files effectively
• where to find numerous examples of spreadsheets for use in the classroom

This workshop is three hrs long and will take place as two, 1.5 hr classes.

This workshop is available as a "Workshop on Demand." Contact one of the Technology Helping Teachers to arrange to have this workshop delivered to your staff on site OR arrange to have a group of teachers take the workshop at Digital Learning Centre @ CORE (Google Maps).
