Applied Skills Productivity Software: Using a Word Processor
Teachers should be able to:
  1. Create a new document and save/name it.
    • Uploading a document
    • Saving documents in various formats (PDF, Word, RTF, WebPage)
    • Using a template
  2. Editing a document: format text (font, size, colour, style), format paragraphs, indent, using tabs, setting margins, making lists, adjust line spacing, & checking spelling and grammar. 
  3. Insert objects such as: images, drawings, tables, links, and comments. 
  4. Share documents with others: collaborate, publish, print, create PDF's, and email as attachment.
  5. Keeping documents safe and organizing them for easy retrieval.
Applied Skills Productivity Software: Using a Spreadsheet
Teachers should be able to:
  1. Identify the various components of a spreadsheet: columns, rows, data, labels, formulae
  2. Navigate through a spreadsheet (understand how to use cell references and sheets)
  3. Use basic text formatting skills (covered in word processing)
  4. Using formulas to create simple, routine calculations.
    • SUM, AVERAGE, MAX, MIN, COUNT as well as basic syntax of equations
    • fill down, fill right
    • constant cell references
  5.   Use spreadsheet for organizing data
  6. Create charts and graphs using data
  7. Share documents with others: collaborate, publish, print, create PDF's, and email as attachment.
  8. Keeping documents safe and organizing them for easy retrieval.
Applied Skills Productivity Software: Creating Presentations
Teachers should be able to:
  1. Create a new presentation using available software (Google Docs, PowerPoint, KeyNote)
  2. Access templates
  3. Select themes and customize for designated use
  4. Insert media (including images, audio and video), Links (external and internal), tables, charts, and drawings.
  5. Set up animations and transitions that enhance communication.
  6. Share a presentation in a variety of ways (data projector, website, PDF, self-playing learning object).
